hgh Consulting has successfully acted for Petersham Nurseries at appeal against enforcement action taken by Richmond-upon-Thames Council, writes Nick Belsten, hgh Executive Director.
The appeal follows its long running battle with the Council for over the last 10 years to open the Green Michelin-starred restaurant for three evenings a week, without which the Nurseries’ future would have been precarious.
The decision letter, together with a partial costs award against Richmond-upon-Thames Council, was issued just a week after a four-day inquiry closed.
Petersham Nurseries has been created through the Boglione family’s love and hard work over many years. The appeal generated around 11,500 letters and emails of support.
The hgh Consulting team comprised myself, Nick Belsten, Mel Mantell and Ross Williamson, working with Simon Ricketts and Anna Sidebottom of Town Legal who instructed Scott Stemp of No5 Chambers. The professional team included: Richard Vivian of Big Sky Acoustics,; James Bevis of i-Transport; Simon Ward of Propernomics; Andrew Smith of Fabrik; Nick Collins of Portico Heritage; and Jessica Steward of Comm Comm UK. Above all, our thanks to the client team, led by Francesco & Lara Boglione.
