hgh Consulting is delighted to confirm the London Borough of Hounslow has approved planning permission for the QPR’s new training ground in Heston.

The approved scheme will see the existing site at Heston Sports Ground, formerly known as the Concorde Centre, redeveloped to provide the Club with a modern and highly sustainable new training ground.

hgh has advised the Club through an extensive planning approval process, involving many key stakeholders, including the Borough, the Greater London Authority, Sport England, the National Planning Casework Unit, and the local community, to obtain permission for the development.

The vision for the state-of-the-art facility, which will accommodate the club’s first team, under 23s and academy squads, and will also enable the Club and its Community Trust to develop, expand and enhance their community partnerships and initiatives, to the benefit of the local community and wider community sports provision in the area.

QPR CEO Lee Hoos said: “This is fantastic news for the club’s medium and long-term future so I am absolutely delighted, as are the owners.

“Investment in infrastructure, such as a bespoke training ground, is the greatest indication of an ownership which is here for the long term and genuinely believes in the growth of their football club.”

Expert Project Team

The project is being delivered by an expert team including hgh, architects Studio Zoppini Architetti and global design engineering consultants Buro Happold.

hgh has a strong track record of success and experience in delivering sports facilities, which include the Emirates and the London Olympic Stadium.

The club acquired the 27-acre site in December 2020 and, following endorsement from the Mayor of London and the Secretary of State, work will commence from 1st October. Work on the new training ground building will start before the end of the calendar year.
