Sian Thomas, Senior Planner at hgh Consulting has been announced as the new Chair of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) London Young Planners branch.
RTPI Young Planners is a group set up for young planners at the start of their career journey. It provides networking opportunities for individuals to develop professional contacts and is a forum for APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) support and wider industry engagement.
Sian has been on the RTPI London committee for 2 years and was previously a Vice Chair and National Representative of the RTPI Young Planners Wales branch for 2 years.
Over her 12-month tenure Sian will be engaging with the next generation of planners to inspire young people to get involved in property and construction professions. She will work with the committee to provide networking and APC events in London for newly qualified planners.

Sian Thomas said: ”I am proud to have been appointed as Chair of the RTPI London Young Planners committee. Since graduating from my Masters in 2019, I have worked hard to develop my career and achieve my Chartered status. I am committed to helping other young planners pass their APC and receive the global recognition of being a Chartered Town Planner.”
She added: “RTPI London Young Planners also provides a fantastic networking platform for early career planners to meet fellow professionals from large multi-disciplinary firms to small practices. We also intend to run inter-discipline events this year, to provide opportunities that help individuals grow their local networks.”
